My Top 5 Most Favorite Netflix Series

It's been months since I last posted in my blog. For the last few months I never posted anything here, I busied myself in my academics with a little bit of chilling in netflix.
Whenever I have free time, I always go to netflix and chill. If you follow me on my social media accounts (twitter: floresclariza and instagram: heyclar) you probably know, I am also addicted with netflix series I watch.
Who wouldn't be addicted with all the series if it has a mind-blowing twist?
I suddenly saw myself being tangled up with mysteries revolving around one's series. Once you go watch netflix and been hooked up with a series, it's already hard to let go the app. Your self will crave for more series.
And if you are also a fan of netflix just like me, I will list down my top 5 most favorite netflix series.

So here goes my top 5. Let's start from the bottom.
5. The Society
"When everyone else mysteriously vanishes from their wealthy town, the teen residents of West Ham must forge their own society to survive."
This series has only one (1) season containing of ten (10) episodes. The season 2 will premiere next year, 2020. Yey! (Though, there is still no specific date about it.)
The Society is the top 5 on my list. I watched this on the middle of summer. Since the day netflix has shown us the trailer of "The Society" it already piques my interest because I am really into mystery.
This series revolves around one place which is the West Ham. After the camp trip of the teen residents in West Ham, they went home in their town but they found no one but themselves. All their houses are there and the place is the same just like it is. The only difference it makes was all the residents of the town are gone missing.
The next day, they searched for their parents in the whole town but there are no other places in their town but only the West Ham. Other than West Ham, the place is already surrounded with woods.
Due to this incident, Cassandra Pressman (Rachel Keller) together with her sister, Ally Pressman (Kathryn Newton) made an action about this and gathered all the remaining residents of West Ham in the chapel.
The Pressman sisters lead the remaining society of West Ham for everyone to survive. They don't know what happened. They have no idea where they are. That's why Sam Eliot (Sean Berdy) got a theory that they are in a parallel universe. They are living in another dimension of the Earth.
It wasn't yet sure if his theory is right but the Pressman sisters made sure that while they are discovering what happened to their town, they will also find ways for everyone to survive.
These are the casts of The Society in a chapel. They always gathered here whenever there is something they need to discuss about.
Since there is a grocery store in West Ham and discovered it has no owner or it isn't just around, they have decided to made it as their supply of foods. And, since there are only limited stocks of foods, the Pressman sisters decided for everyone to eat in the cafeteria so they can all budget their foods and everyone can eat.
Sometimes, there are conflicts occur in their society, but at the end, they all have one goal — to survive. Sometimes, there are people who don't cooperate with the system the Pressman sisters made but they had no choice but to follow it since it is also for their own sake.
As days pass by, they can't still figure out what happened to them and where are their parents. Since they have interpreted that they are in another dimension, they named the West Ham as the "New Ham."
These are the girls in The Society who have important roles in this series. Back in the original West Ham, these girls aren't close with each other but when they came to New Ham, they got no choice but to get along with each other to come up with new plans on how to survive.
They helped each other and got each other's back. Even though they have no idea what's going on with their town, they continued their lives in the New Ham and always hoping one day, they'd come back to their original town and be able to be with their parents.
These are the guards of the Pressman sisters. I like their loyalty to the Pressman sisters but their loyalty has test to the end when some happenings occur which you will discover in the series.
There are many conflicts happened in New Ham. They got no idea where they are or if they can still go back to their original town.
In another dimension, their parents think that they are already dead. Is it true? Are they dead? Are they really in parallel universe? Do they still get to escape? What will happen to them now?
These are some of the questions running through my head while waiting for another season. If you are also interested in this series, let us all find out the answers to my questions.
4. Lucifer
"Bored with being the Lord of Hell, the devil relocates to Los Angeles, where he opens a nightclub and forms a connection with homicide detective."
Lucifer has four (4) seasons. Season 1 contains thirteen (13) episodes. Season 2 contains eighteen (18) episodes. Season 3 contains twenty-six (26) episodes. And lastly, Season 4 contains ten (10) episodes. And more lastly, there is another season coming!
Lucifer revolves around the story of the devil and former angel, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis). He's been punished to rule Hell for all eternity. Until he got bored and decided to take a leave from his kingdom.
He went to Los Angeles which is also known as The City of Angels. He opens his own nightclub which is the "Lux."
Lucifer has the ability to know people's desire. He will go around in this series saying to people like, "What do you desire?" But there is only one person he can't identify what she desires. It is the homicide detective, Chloe Decker (Lauren German).
Even though how many times he stares at Chloe's eyes and play his tricks on her but he really can't make Chloe tell her desires. He worked with Chloe as civilian consultant in LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department).
They solved cases together. They actually made a good partnership. And, imagine a devil catching bad people and following the justice system on Earth. Sometimes, when he can't control his anger, he takes his justice with his own hands. But thanks to Chloe, she calms him down sometimes.
We always knew the devil, Lucifer, as someone who is "evil." But as the Lord of Hell, he is task to punish those who are "evil" and those bad people who commits evil things on Earth.
In the first season of Lucifer, we discovered what makes the devil vulnerable. Lucifer is an immortal. But when everytime Chloe is near, he gets bleed. But when Chloe is not around, he can be shot with thousands of bullets without getting bleed.
Chloe makes the devil vulnerable. If you haven't yet watched this series, it is for you to find out the reason why Chloe makes the devil vulnerable.
This is Lucifer's angel brother, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside.) Lucifer has many siblings but Amenadiel is his only sibling who followed him on Earth. The original task of Amenadiel is to order Lucifer to go back in Hell. But he really can't make his brother follow him so he stayed with him on Earth.
Amenadiel is a dutiful son of God. When he lost everything with him, he stayed faithful to his Father. And one of the reasons why he can't go back to the Silver City (their other term for Heaven) yet is because he believes that God put him on Lucifer's path to guide his brother to every decision it makes.
When sometimes, Lucifer blames their father for everything that's happening to him, Amenadiel is always their to make him understand the situation.
This is their team in LAPD. Chloe as the detective, Lucifer as the civilian consultant and Ella as the forensic. Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) appeared on the second season of Lucifer. She identifies what happened to the murder scene and what causes the death of the victims. She is really good at it!
It always amaze me when they solve cases together. It is hard to identify who is the culprit but when they team up together, they can easily solve a crime in just one episode!

These are the important casts of Lucifer. They all have an impact to Lucifer's life. But only few of them knows that he is the real devil. One of them is Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris), the girl with white hair and eye glasses. She is Lucifer's therapist.
Whenever I watch their sessions, I also want to have a therapist. She is really good at helping Lucifer's problem and also by giving advices to the devil. If I'd also hire a therapist for me, I also want someone as good as her.

If you are also interested in knowing the devil's life, don't hesitate to watch this series! There is more to Lucifer than what you already know about him. You will encounter many scenarios involving the divinity, God, Heaven, Hell, angels and demons. Lucifer has come up with four seasons but there are still many scenarios that are most-awaited by the viewers. Can't wait to watch the upcoming season!
3. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
"Magic and mischief collide as half-human, half-witch Sabrina navigates between two worlds: mortal teen life and her family's legacy, the Church of Night."
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has two parts. First part contains eleven (11) episodes and second part contains nine (09) episodes. I don't know if when will they release the third part because it better has a third part since the last episode is such a cliff-hanger and there are still questions left unanswered.
Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) is a half-mortal, half-witch. Her mother is a mortal and her father is a witch. She lived with her two aunties together with Ambrose Spellman (Chance Perdomo) who are also witches. They hid their identity from everybody in Greendale because residents in Greendale don't believe in witches anymore.
Although, Sabrina's boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) came from a family of witch-hunters.
Sabrina was destined to leave her mortal life and finally do her duty as a witch when she turns 16th on October 31st. But something happened which prevents her fate. She chose to live both her mortal life and witch life.
These are Sabrina's mortal friends, Susie Putnam (Lachlan Watson) and Rosalind "Roz" Walker (Jaz Sinclair).
She treasures them very much. Everytime someone bullies her friends, she takes action using her witch crafts. She asks help from the sisters to get revenge to those who bully her friends. But it isn't easy to ask help from the sisters, since they are also hard to please.
This is Sabrina with the sisters. Prudence (Tati Gabrielle), Dorcas (Abigail Cowen) and Agatha (Adeline Rudolph.)
They are the weird sisters from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. They are always together and Prudence is somewhat their leader. When Dorcas and Agatha made something that doesn't involve Prudence, Agatha paid the consequence. They are angry with the witch-hunters that killed the familiar from the forest so Dorcas and Agatha have done something terrible which involves killing lives.
Witches have familiars to serve and provide protection for them as they come into their new powers. Sabrina's familiar is Salem, which is an American Shorthair cat. But it is believed that witch's familiars are former witches who have committed serious crimes and been turned into animals as punishment.
There are still many witch crafts you will encounter in this series. Something magical and something evil.
These are the two aunties of Sabrina, Aunt Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto.)
They always guide and protect their niece on whatever conflict she involves herself into. Sometimes, Sabrina is a brat who does something she wants regardless of what the risk she may be taking.
And everytime Sabrina have done something, her aunties explain her actions to the high priest so she wouldn't be punished. And sometimes, they take the consequences for Sabrina.
I remembered that one scene with her Aunties. Her Aunties are against with her decision and warned her not to do it because it will fail but Sabrina still did what she wants. When her Aunties are right, Sabrina came to them crying and instead of scolding their niece, they hugged her very tight and provided her comfort. It touches my heart. That was actually my favorite scene of them.
These are the casts of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Upon watching this series, you will really encounter many adventures of Sabrina as if you are also being dragged by her. I became hooked up with this series and it has also a mind-blowing twist. In additional, witch crafts amazes me. If I will be reincarnated someday, I suddenly want to be a witch. Just kidding.
At first, I like Harvey Kinkle for Sabrina. But things happen so they broke up and Sabrina is now dating Nicholas Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood.) He is also a witch. They made a good chemistry in this series. And that is what I am actually waiting for the Part 3 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina — how will they save Nicholas?
Save from whom and save from where, I'll just zip my mouth for this if you haven't watched the series.
2. Stranger Things
"When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl."
Stranger Things has three (3) seasons. First season contains eight (8) episodes. Second season contains nine (9) episodes. Third season contains (8) episodes. And there will be fourth season!
I have recently finished watching this series and it eventually goes up on my list. You are absolutely missing something in your life if you haven't yet watched this. This is one of the greatest and literally the strangest series in netflix!
There are many mysteries revolving around Hawkins, Indiana. The series focuses on 1984 so the fashion of the characters really suits for the timelime during 1984.
You will encounter many strange things in this series. First episode and I already find it strange. Especially those times when Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) went missing and her mom, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) finds her son using the lights. She is also communicating with her son using the lights which I find really strange. I want to know what does the lights got to do with the strange things happening in this series?
But my questions got answered at the season finale of Season 1.
I don't know but they look really cute even though their faces are serious. This is their party which involves; Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will Byers.
When their friend went missing, of course, they made some actions to find Will. But instead, they found a "strange little girl". That is Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown.) She doesn't talk at first and only say few words. She has an ability to move things using her mind or what is called as "telekinesis." She can also channel someone using her mind. She can also find someone using her mind. How amazing she really is, right?
They used Eleven to find Will. In the middle of finding Will, Mike kept Eleven in his basement and hid it from his mom. Eleven got a little close with Mike since among the three of them, Mike takes care of her because at first, Dustin and Lucas sees Eleven as a weirdo.
But in the middle of the series, they eventually became friends with Eleven and she is now part of the party.
On the Season 2, they added another character which is Maxine Mayfield (Sadie Sink.) Dustin and Lucas find her interesting when they knew that she is MADMAX who got the highest score in arcades beating Dustin.
Since then, they started to stalk Max. Mike doesn't want her at first because she doesn't want to replace Eleven in their party. But Lucas told Max everything that happened from the Season 1 so it also means Max is already involved with this.
In Season 3, Max became officially part of the party and they all entangled with the mystery revolving around the upside down and the mind flayer which they can't really kill unless they close the gate and no one will ever open it.

This happens to the Season 3 when they divided themselves with different tasks to end the madness of the mind flayer. The Scoops Troop which is the unexpected team I never expected, they are the one who found the secret laboratory of the Russian base. The Scoops Troop which are Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Ericka Sinclair (Priah Ferguson), and Dustin.
As I see their team as an unexpected one, I also see Steve as an unexpected babysitter. He got close with Dustin which the fans are thinking that maybe he'd adopt Dustin someday. He got this famous line that says, "I may be a pretty shitty boyfriend but turns out I'm actually a pretty damn good babysitter."
With their three teams, they successfully closed the gate again, ending the consciousness of the mind flayer.
They are such an adorable couple! Among the netflix actors/actresses I encountered, they are the first actors/actresses I found out who are actually the same age as mine or close to my age.
Mike and Eleven started dating on Season 3. But even before they dated each other, they already care for each other very much. I can't forget the famous line of Mike Wheeler referring to Eleven, "Because I love her very much and I can't lose her again!"
Everyone went silence but why can I hear Mike's heartbeat very loudly? His love for Eleven must really overflowing. Let our response be, "SANA ALL!!"
These are the casts of Stranger Things. The series is so good that I started to wonder who are the Duffer Brothers are for them to come up with this briliant story line.
Almost all my friends and acquaintances have already watched this series and some of them even got so hooked up just like I am. Every episode is really mind-blowing and intense.
I am so excited for the next season since there are still many questions in my head that I think only Season 4 can answer. 2020 seems long but with a good series, it will always be worth the wait.
1. Riverdale
"While navigating the troubled waters of sex, romance, school and family, teen Archie and his gang became entangled in a dark Riverdale mystery."
Riverde has four (4) seasons. Season 1 contains thirteen (13) episodes. Season 2 contains twenty-two (22) episodes. Season 3 contains twenty-two (22) episodes. And Season 4 which is an on-going season contains five (5) episode. It always update every Thursday.
This. Is. My. Most. Favorite. Netflix. Series!!!
That's why it is actually on my first list. This is actually the first netflix series I have watched on netflix! And I suddenly became hooked up with all the happenings in this series.
I consider Riverdale as my original hometown in netflix. This town has lot of mysteries and histories. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and together with Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) entangled themselves in the hidden mysteries of Riverdale.
Each season of this series are focused to something. Season 1 is focused to the tragic death of Jason Blossom. Season 2 is focused on the killer named Blackhood. Season 3 is focused on the game named Gryphons and Gargoyles and identifying who is the mysterious Gargoyle King. And Season 4 is like the mix-up of all the incidents happened in Riverdale.
Betty, Jughead, Archie and Veronica have different issues. Betty is struggling with herself due to her dark side which makes her do evil things. Jughead is struggling with being the next footstep on his father on leading their gang named The Serpents. When his father left the title for the Serpent King, Jughead replaced him and he was tasked to lead The Serpents.
Archie Andrews struggles with his music career, football and construction working. His dad wants him to handle their business in construction working but Archie has no passion for it. His dad still supports him with his music and football. Archie found another hobby to the recent seasons of Riverdale — boxing, wrestling and fighting. In Season 4, he now had his own gym club which he makes as the community center.
While, Veronica Lodge struggles with her parents. Lodge is a very wealthy and powerful family in Riverdale because of her parents' illegal deeds. She doesn't want to be involved in her parents' mess. Sometimes, she keeps on disobeying her own father and working hard to build her own name. I actually like the personality of Veronica as being a cunning woman. Maybe because she is trained by his father to always get what she wants. She is also a spoiled daughter by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos.)
They may have different issues to solve for their own but they always got each other's back. And their most favorite place to go with is the Pop's. It is the heart of Riverdale. I really want to taste the popular milkshake in Pop's!
Jughead and Betty are real-life couples! They actually make me feel giddy and they also suit for each other.
They always resolve cases in Riverdale together. In Season 1, Jughead helped Betty to find her sister Polly (Tiera Skovbye.) They want to link themselves in whatever mysterious is happening in Riverdale. Maybe because they are both writers. Jughead always write down everything they encounter.
Although, they are not couples in real life because Veronica has a boyfriend which is also part of the series which is Archie's teammate in football, Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton).
Veronica and Archie also got each other's back. Archie is also welcomed by the Lodge but he was test several times by Hiram Lodge first. They even fought in a boxing match.
I suddenly remembered when Archie got into prison and Veronica was outside cheering for him while he is having a football match. Veronica tagged the Vixens along with her, it is the cheerleaders in Riverdale High School led by Cheryl Blossom.
These are the casts of Riverdale where Lodge, Andrews, Blossom, Cooper and Jones are present. They are the famous family names in Riverdale encountering different mysteries and they all have secrets with them.
This became my most favorite netflix series because of the storyline, plot, characters, friendship, and their romance. If I will be asked on what makes the Riverdale different from other series I listed, my answer would be among all the series I watched, only Riverdale caught my heart and soul.
The friendship between B and V. The romance between Jughead and Betty, Veronica and Archie. The friendship they built. Every mysteries they uncover together. It is the casts and the mysteries they solve together that makes Riverdale extra special.
This is actually the most saddest episode in the series. They are all wearing black or white to commemorate the death of Luke Perry who played the role of Archie's dad, Fred Andrews.
He became an important role in this series and I won't forget his famous line, "Whatever you decide, be confident enough in it that you don't have to lie."
They made a whole episode dedicated for Luke Perry. It is the first episode of Season 4. And just like what Archie Andrews said, "Fred Andrews will always be part of Riverdale."
So, that's it. These are my top 5 most favorite netflix series. Maybe this will be change someday, probably next year since there are still netflix series I haven't watch yet.
