A Letter for Aspiring Writers
Hey! It’s Clar.
If you opened this letter, maybe you are curious about what I am going to tell you. Well, then, you have found this letter in a time that you needed it the most.
I may have no idea on what you are currently going through in your writing journey, but there is one thing I am sure of; you wanted to become a writer.
If you are an aspiring writer, this letter is for you…
On this very day, I celebrate my second anniversary as an aspiring author. Believe me, I have been in multiple situations where I have thought of giving up my passion in writing.
My mind was filled by insecurities that someone is better than me. This author has a lot more achievements than me. This author has a lot of reads compared to my stories. This author is more eloquent than me.
Maybe, you have already found yourself in that situation once in your life as an aspiring writer.
If there is something I have learned upon overcoming insecurities, that is by not comparing myself to anyone. We are different from one another, no one is the same in every aspect.
Someone might be greater than us, but if we focus on our own growth and progress, their greatness won’t matter to us. We will even be happy with their achievements.
There is joy in letting go of our insecurities.
Comparing ourselves from anyone is such a waste of time and it won’t even do us any good, we are only degrading ourselves.
Every writer has a struggle, even those who are already known still struggles with something. I just want to let you feel that you are not alone with your struggles.
I hope that you still choose to keep going despite the hardships.
You’ll never know how far you can go, but if you keep going, you will reach farther than you expected.
Achievements won’t define how far you’ve come — your experiences do.
And, in your journey, the path may be rough and hard, but have in mind that you still have a long way to go. Collect learnings that will help you reach your destination.
If you feel down because no one reads your story, keep in mind that every story started from zero reads. It will increase overtime just keep writing.
Write to express.
Write if you want to write.
Write with your heart’s content.
Write if you have a story to tell.
Keep writing. Keep aspiring. Keep going.
Aspire to become better. Aspire to improve. If you chase for these things, the reads will follow.
Keep learning so if your readers come, they will meet the improved version of you. Someone that I would also love to meet.
If you think that no one believes in you, don’t let it be yourself. Believe that someday, you’ll get there.
And, by then, I hope you keep aspiring even until you get there.
Yours truly,
Clar ♡
